While there are no regulations limiting your ability to travel within the U.S., there are certain restrictions regarding international travel.
You can only travel outside the U.S. for a maximum of 30 days at a time, outside the 30-day grace periods before and after your DS-2019 dates. Before each departure, we encourage you to notify CIEE of your travel dates by sending them an email. Please note that you must imperatively have your DS-2019 with you during all your international travels.
Your training must take place on U.S. territory. Travels outside the U.S. must be limited in time and frequency.
Furthermore, you must always verify the validity of your visa in order to reenter the U.S. and you will not be covered by CIEE’s insurance during your travels outside the United States.
You cannot travel outside the United States during your two grace periods before and after your DS-2019 dates. Should you do so, you might not be able to reenter the U.S.
